After a few days at the beach, we took the ferry back to Panama City. After a nice dinner on the water, we had a driver take us grocery shopping then out to Gamboa (a little town halfway up the Canal that is near the jungle activities). The house we rented was spectacular, and we played in the pool every afternoon. We spent time at the Gamboa Rainforest Resort visiting their wildlife rehabilitation center, riding the aerial tram through the treetops, and seeing their butterfly and orchid exhibits. We also did a boat tour of Gatun Lake and the monkey islands (where wild monkeys came onto our boat), visited the Miraflores Locks and Summit Zoo, and did a sunset cruise of the Chagres river).
