Mimi and Pop Pop Visit

Being trapped inside all weekend with this snow wasn't too bad because Mimi and Pop Pop (my parents) came to vist from Atlanta. Anna Kate LOVED the attention and sharing her favorite games and books.

SNOW!!!

It snowed over 12 inches Friday and Saturday morning, and we woke up to a very different looking yard. Anna Kate seemed very excited to play in the snow, but seemed much less excited about it once we got outside (in her snow suit!). We even tried to sled in our back yard, but the snow was so powdery that you could never build up much speed. Molly, my Dad (Pop Pop), and I took turns shoveling the driveway, using my new snow blower, and clearing the walkways. Especially since the power didn't go out for once, we made it through our first big snow storm up north just fine.

In other news, it's snowing hard here and we are supposed to get anywhere from 10 to 15 inches by tomorrow morning.  Hopefully the power stays on during this storm :-)  Check back soon for pictures of AK playing in the snow.

Reading

Anna Kate loves to read so we decided she needed a comfortable place to curl up with a good book.  She was so excited to get her very own reading chair that we couldn't even get it all the way out of the packaging before she had to try it out!

Our nighttime reading is typically something a little more advanced.  Right now, we are about to finish The Wind in the Willows.  Prior to that we read the entire Little House on the Prairie series and Anne of Green Gables. Over the weekend, we are going to start The Secret Garden.
