Happy Halloween!!

Halloween this year wasn't quite how we imagined it given that Sandy knocked down two enormous trees in our yard (one of which snapped the power lines going into our house), so we are currently staying with Auntie Robin! The power might be out for a week or more and our part of NJ is running out of gas, so we might be here for awhile. On top of that, Anna Kate is sick with a fever and a cold and has been very pathetic all day. Poor baby.

 

We did manage to get her into her Ruth Bader Ginsburg costume although she was NOT happy about it! The good news is that the governor of NJ officially postponed Halloween until sometime next week so we will have an opportunity to try again!

  

13 Month Photoshoot - Part 2

This was our first photo shoot where Anna Kate was able to stand up and walk on her own which actually made things a bit easier.  We all had a great time while taking pictures outside and are already feeling a little stir-crazy being stuck inside (Daddy's work and AK's daycare are both closed).  Hopefully the storm passes quickly!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

13 Month Photoshoot - Part 1

We snuck in a quick outside photo shoot yesterday in advance of  Sandy.  AK was in a great mood and really enjoyed playing in the leaves.  While outside, we met several of our neighbors who warned us that last year they lost power for 5 days during the bad storm and were expecting something similar this time around.  We have plenty of food and water and are braced for the worst of the storm which should be sometime this evening or over night.  Wish us well!

Here is a video of  her new favorite activity - pushing a shopping cart.  She has to be watched very carefully during this activity because she is prone to ramming the cart into whatever is in front of here - shelves, people, anything...

 

First Day of School

Anna Kate started her new school (the daycare at Daddy's office) bright and early on Monday morning so Mommy & Daddy could go to the DMV to get their new NJ license plates and drivers licenses.  She seems to love it so far.  They do craft projects (the first one was a spider made out of two glued together hand prints) and have circle time with stories and songs.  As soon as she turns 18 months, we can sign her up for extracurriculars like yoga or theater.
