It poured down rain all day in Dublin and Ben had to work so AK and I hit the museums. First up was the Natural History Museum. I think every tourist in the city with children had the same idea - the place was packed! It was a great old-school museum with hundreds of taxidermied animals to look at and nobody cared that AK was loud and spit up all over everything! She saw her first puma (hi Auntie Robin) and made friends with a zebra head. All the dead animals kind of freaked me out, but AK loved it!
After a short (but very wet) walk, we made it to the History and Archaeology Museum. AK slept while I perused through thousands of years of artifacts (bodies! butter! gold!) that had been pulled out of bogs around the country.
Hopefully tomorrow is drier.

Made it to Ireland!
Anna Kate did GREAT on the flight! She slept most of the time and played quietly when she was up. She really liked the mirrors in the bathroom and was quite popular with the flight attendants. Here are a few pics including her trying out Mom's eye shade. :-)

Official 4 Month Checkup
Anna Kate had her four month checkup with Dr. Wilburn this morning. In anticipation of getting her second round of vaccines, she wore her "Say No To Polio" button that Mommy picked up when she worked for the CDC (as if anyone would say "Yes" to Polio!). Note that she paired her button with her "Tougher Than I Look" onesie that she wore when she got her first round of vaccines two months ago. How appropriate!
Here she is getting weighed and measured:
Official Stats:
(There are several different charts that show the percentages and they vary wildly, but we are using the CDC stats that are built into Mommy's Total Baby Management app on her iphone!)
Height - 26.25 inches (97th%)
Height - 26.25 inches (97th%)
Weight - 13 lbs, 3 oz (40th%)
Head Size - 15.5 inches (12th%)
Percentile-wise, she has gown down in Weight & Head Size but up in Height!
Overall, Dr. Wilburn gave her another gold star for being a very healthy baby.
And then the bad part! One oral vaccine and 3 shots, just like last time. NOT FUN! (It's not just the light, I have brown hair now!)
She bounced back and is taking a nice nap now - gotta rest up for Ireland - we leave tomorrow!

Strollin
We want to bring our own carseat to Ireland and after studying all the options we decided the easiest way to do that is to get the stroller frame that snaps on to the carseat so we can push it through the airport instead of carrying it (it is VERY heavy!). We picked it up at Babies 'R Us yesterday and tried it out inside. Here is AK's first stroll:
Fire!
It was cold and rainy on Sunday so we decided to have a fire. AK studied it for a few minutes but ultimately wasn't interested.
Big Girl Car Seat
When we got out the manual for our carseat to see if it was approved for air travel (it is!) we saw that we were supposed to take the infant insert out at 11lbs. AK is somewhere in the 13-14 lb. range now, so we missed that milestone. Oops. Here she is in her big girl carseat for the very first time (it's also her first time wearing her winter coat!)
