Mimi and Pop Pop Come to Visit!

This past weekend, Ben's parents (Mimi and Pop Pop to Anna Kate) visited our new house in New Jersey. The weekend was great for everyone. They got to hang out with AK (and us), we got TONS done around the house with their help, and Anna Kate loved seeing them in person after only phone calls and video chats this past month. On Friday, we went into New York City to see the Rockettes in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular while our friends Matt and Rena watched AK at their apartment. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Storm Damage

After FIFTEEN days, our power was finally restored yesterday morning.  Yay!

The 3-4 inches of snow we got early in the week did not help with the clean-up efforts.

 The one good thing about the downed trees is that we were able to save a few good sized pieces for the natural playground we are building for AK in our backyard.

 

Fun at Auntie Katie's House

Thanks so much to Auntie Katie/Uncle Matt/Henry/Goose for taking us in for another week while we waited for our power to be restored.  On Tuesday, AK and I took a train from Newark to Virginia so Neni could watch AK while I worked.  AK was great on the train both ways (we came back on Saturday) - taking a train is SO much easier than taking a plane!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Brandywine Zoo

In addition to the very impressive tiger, the Brandywine Zoo (within walking distance of Auntie Robin's house) also has a few llamas and a collection of friendly ducks.  Sweet!
