MARTA, Passport Office

We missed the deadline for applying for Anna Kate's passport in the mail, so we had to go downtown to the new passport office to turn in her application in person.  The traffic was bad, so we took MARTA.  The trip was easy - AK behaved nicely and even got to stay in her pack as we went through security at the passport building!

Even though we weren't supposed to get the passport until the middle of next week it came in the mail on Thursday - less than 48 hours after our appointment!  Very efficient!

I'd Love To Stay And Chat...

AK is always on the go, so this outfit from Uncle Stuart & Aunt Kathleen is perfect!

MLK Day

"school" is closed today but Mommy and Daddy both have to work so AK is staying home with Mimi. We'll let you know how it goes later on.

Mellow Mushroom

AK enjoyed her first trip to Mellow Mushroom last night. She stayed up way past her usual 6:30/7:00pm bedtime, but the fun times with Uncle Stuart and Aunt Kathleen were well worth it!

Exciting News

We booked our flights to Ireland today! Anna Kate and I are tagging along with Daddy on his work trip to Dublin. In about two weeks we'll be on our way. Any tips on traveling with an infant or on good things to do in Ireland would be greatly appreciated.

Happy (Early) Birthday Uncle Stuart!

On Saturday night, we met at the Lawder-favorite Little Szechuan to celebrate Uncle Stuart's Birthday a few days early.  AK was only mildly distracting with a few minutes of crying before she fell asleep.

Official Christmas Photoshoot

I forgot to post pictures from our official Christmas photo shoot with Heidi, although you saw some of them on our Christmas card.  Here are some of the other good ones.

First Sick Visit to Dr. Wilburn

AK got a cold a few days before Christmas and has had a lingering cough ever since. It has been pretty bad at night and she's even woken herself up with the coughs several times, so we thought we'd take her in to see Dr. Wilburn just to make sure everything was ok. Dr. Wilburn checked her out and said everything was fine but we could prop her mattress up a little at night if that would make us feel better. No worries there because AK is still sleeping in her swing, so we've got that covered!

School Days!

AK learned something new during her first week at school!  Irene was SO proud on Thursday when AK learned how to hold her paci in her mouth with her hands (she scratched herself a few times with her fingernails that are like razors b/c Mommy & Daddy are too scared to cut them, hence the mittens!)

Huge Temple Victory!

AK had been itching to try out her new Temple Owls shirt that Uncle Jefferson gave her for Christmas, but we hadn't had the perfect opportunity until Wednesday when Temple played Duke in a nationally televised game. AK geared up and cheered for the Owls as they warmed up, but had to go to bed before the game actually started. She must have been cheering in her dreams though because the Owls pulled off a nail-biter victory. The game was so exciting we didn't even have time to look for Auntie Robin on TV!

Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve was a big day for us.  First, we took down all the Christmas decorations (AK helped Daddy with the outside lights.)

Then we cheered the Cats to victory over our horrible in-state rivals:

After a quick outfit change, we were ready to cheer for the Jackets in their last football game of the year:

Uncle Stuart & Aunt Kathleen came over to watch the game with us so we took the opportunity to exchange Christmas presents during halftime:

Unfortunately, the Jackets didn't win but AK didn't seem to mind. She's already excited about next year!

We were so exhausted after our long day of cleaning and cheering that the whole family was asleep by 9pm.  Happy New Year everybody!

Christmas Picture for Neni & Pops

We wanted to get a picture of all the kids/grandkids for Neni & Pops for Christmas.  We aren't the most photogenic family so it took a few tries.

This is the one we ended up framing

3 Month Photoshoot

AK turned 3 months old on December 24 when we were in Columbia, but I just got the pictures off of Ben's fancy camera.  It was colder than we thought it would be outside, so we only had time for a few quick pictures.  Here are a some of the ones that I like the best.
