Smarty Pants (well, smarty onesie)

We finally got a picture of Anna Kate in her periodic table onesie from Aunt Kathleen (the chemical engineer in the family) before she could spit up on it! Everyone likes a good barium and beryllium article of clothing.

Two weeks old and still super cute

Anna Kate is now more than 2 weeks old, and she's definitely growing up fast. Here are some really cute pictures from the weekend.

Mommy reading Island of the Blue Dolphins to Anna Kate (in our loaner rocking chair / glider while we're still waiting for ours to arrive 12 weeks after ordering it!).

Anna Kate listening to her first concert online. Yay Jocelyn!

Getting into the fall spirit!

Cute pictures of Anna Kate!

Here are some random favorites from Anna Kate's second week.

Hanging out with my family

Neni left on Monday after a week. We miss her already and really appreciate all her help during her stay.

Pop Pop's new job is only a mile away from us, and he loves to stop by after a long day in the office.

Uncle Billy came and visited for the first time today. He was teaching Ben all kinds of tips he's picked up from 3 kids and even jumped in to change a diaper!

Rocking Chair

Check out this adorable rocking chair and personalized bib from Ben's team at work - super cute!

Play Time Video

Just in case the still photos aren't enough, here is a video of Anna Kate playing on Daddy's lap.

8 Days Later

We're a week into being parents, and aside from radically different sleep patterns (and amounts of sleep), things seem to be going pretty well. Here are some cute pictures of her at 8 days old when we went on a walk to the pharmacy.

Here she is pre-walk in a fun outfit from Aunt Katie.

Here she is in her BabyHawk carrier (note that Mommy is back in non-maternity clothes!).

And here she is exhausted after the walk.

Big Creek Greenway

It was a beautiful fall day here in Atlanta, and we went for a walk on the Big Creek Greenway - an 8 mile paved trail through the woods near our house. Anna Kate slept the whole time, but we really enjoyed the fresh air.

Shhh...She's Sleeping

We've learned that babies sleep anywhere and everywhere when they are tired. Here is an assortment of cute pics of Anna Kate sleeping all over the place.

First Pediatrician Visit

Anna Kate had her first doctor's visit this Thursday. While she did pee all over the office, she got a great report. She is back up to her birth weight (7lbs 6 ounces) after losing some after birth as expected. She is growing great and was super cute.

Our First Walk

Wednesday was a beautiful day here in Atlanta, and we decided to take a short walk around the neighborhood. This was Anna Kate's first time outside (at least beyond our mailbox), and we figured out how to use our ring sling from Aunt Katie and Uncle Matt. Anna Kate slept the whole time, but it was nice to get some fresh air.

Assorted Cute Pics

Here are a few of our favorite ones from our second day at home.
Snuggling with mommy!

Tummy time on a quilt made by Neni!

Anna's first time on our activity mat. Notice her onesie - 100% adorable!

This swaddling sack was a gift from one of Ben's coworkers and is a big hit already.

Anna Kate wearing an adorable frog towel following her first sponge bath!

Help from Neni and Pops

We've really appreciated the help from Molly's parents - Neni (Jeannie) and Pops (James) - who are staying with us. They've helped us get a little more sleep, eat meals together, and not lose our minds!

Coming Home!

Checkups on mom and baby went great this morning, and we were cleared to take Anna Kate home! We put her in a super cute outfit from Mimi and Pop Pop which was newborn sized but still seemed very big on her. She wasn't happy about the outfit change (her first time in clothing other than hospital issued garb), but she did great on the ride home and slept the entire way - all 3 miles or so.

More New People!

Several people came to visit Anna Kate at the hospital on Sunday. Here she is meeting Neni (Molly's mom Jeannie) and Uncle Stuart and Aunt Kathleen for the first time.

Baby Gets A Name!

Since she came a couple weeks early, we weren't quite settled on a name when we had her. After seeing her and spending some time with her, we finally settled on Anna Kate Lawder-Freeman when she was just about 24 hours old. Here are some cute pictures from Day 2.
