Anna Kate's First Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July!  We had a very busy day.

First, we went to the Pickens Flea Market/Jockey Lot.  There are really no words to describe it, but it is kind of like an enormous garage sale with a lot of ... extras.  You have to see it to understand.  We walked around for almost two hours and we only covered about half of it. We left when it got too hot, but we did pick up a few treasures :-)

After that we high-tailed it to Easley to have a cookout with (Great) Uncle Jacky, Frances, George and (Great) Aunt Cynthia.  AK had her first veggie burger and fell in love with Jacky & Frances' huge dog Bear.

We spent the afternoon in the lake playing with cousins John, Joseph & baby Thomas.  AK LOVES Thomas and even gave him a kiss!

AK's new trick is giving kisses.  This is the face she makes to do it:

We finished off the day by participating in the Lakemont Fourth of July Parade!  It was AK's first parade as a participant but it was way past her bedtime (it started at 7:30pm), so she just barely made it to the end without falling asleep.

Random Pictures

Here are some bonus pictures that didn't fit into my other posts:

Neni & Pops

Ben and I are both working the first half of this week so Neni & Pops have been babysitting AK during the day.  I think they all love it!

Anna Kate & Henry

Auntie Katie Camille and Henry were here until Monday afternoon.  AK loves to watch Henry play and Henry loves to hold AK and give her hugs and kisses which is really cute.

Where's Waldo?

AK's first trip to Aunt Sue's!

Swimming

To beat the heat, we've been spending a lot of time in the lake.  Good thing Anna Kate has 8 bathing suits :-)  She loves floating in her froggy float, but we found out that she likes using it as a walker in the baby pool MUCH more than floating.  She had a ball walking around in the water.

Great Grandmother

We are at Lakemont for a 10 day visit with Neni & Pops.  Great Grandmother came up from Columbia to see us on Saturday for lunch.  It was an all-time record 113 degrees in Columbia but wasn't much cooler here (and we don't have air conditioning!)  Great Grandmother didn't seem to be bothered by the heat though and we had a nice visit.

Pictures of Henry at Lakemont

Welcome visitors from Henry's blog!  Katie drove back to Virginia without getting the pictures from all the cameras here, so I'm posting these pictures of Henry for her.
Love for Mama!
